Not Everyone Is Excited About the Latest Supreme Court Ruling

“When a couple contacts a bakery for a wedding cake, the product they are seeking is a cake celebrating their wedding, not a cake celebrating heterosexual weddings or same-sex weddings, and that is the service [the couple] were denied,” Ruth Bader Ginsburg wrote in her dissent.
If only the entire Supreme Court had been so inspired.

As the ruling of yesterday’s Cakeshop Case continues to catch the headlines, it should come as no surprise that there are a number of Americans who are disappointed. More than disappointed, however, are those members of the gay community who may feel that they will soon be paying the high price of this court decision. Should it come as a surprise then that there are a growing number of gay community members who are looking for a space where they can feel safe? A space where they know they will be served. A space where they know they can encounter the Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s of this world and avoid those like the others on the Supreme Court who ruled in favor of the baker.

Finding a community that makes you feel comfortable is a goal for many people. Whether you are looking for a baker who will make a wedding cake for you, a job that will be accepting of your lifestyle, or at homes for sale in Wilton Manors, a Florida community like many others around the country, everyone wants to make sure that they find a place where they feel welcome. And while it may be impossible to live in a world were everyone is accepting, it is important to locate the spaces where you will succeed and thrive.

Florida Destinations Continue to Grow in Popularity
Florida attracts as many as 100 million visitors each year, and is a state where many people have found acceptance of varying kinds of lifestyles. From luxury homes for people who want to have their privacy to gay friendly realtors who will point their clients to homes for sale in Wilton Manors and other accepting communities, Florida is one place that is marketing to specific clients. And while not every gay couple wants to shelter themselves from the Cakeshop owners of this world, it should come as no surprise that there are many who are looking for both existing and new homes in an accepting community.

Although the latest Supreme Court ruling appears to say otherwise, there are a number of places in the country where who you love does not determine what businesses you should visit. Florida’s total population: 21.31 million, and its homes for sale in Wilton Manors serve as an example of one of the many places in the country that are on the side of dissenting opinion written by Ginsberg.
